What does Commitments of Traders Report (COT) mean?

The Commitments of Traders (COT) report is a weekly report published on every Friday by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The report contains an up-to-date information on futures market operations. COT provides list of high open positions interest on Tuesday (you can find it here). All cases where at least 20 traders hold positions for the reporting levels prescribed by the CFTC.
