Founded in 1848, Chicago Board Of Trade (CBOT) is the oldest and one of the largest futures exchange in the world. Initially trading used to take place only under open outcry system; the members used to trade using signs through movement of their fingers and body in the CBOT’s octagonal trading pits. With the advent of computerization, CBOT introduced electronic trading platforms, known as e-CBOT. It has changed the way futures trading take place. While trade via open outcry is possible only from 7:20 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., the e-CBOT’s trading is open for 22 hours a day. You can trade anytime from anywhere.
